Sustainability is the ability to exist constantly. Our main goal is to create projects that are sustainable; we want to create a legacy of impact that lasts longer than any individual member. Our projects must be easily manageable by the people whom they are supposed to benefit. This concept of efficient and easy sustainability goes into the planning of each and every one of our projects.

Technology is always advancing, and there are technological solutions specifically designed to be cost and labor effective. Our intention is to use these technological advances and balance them with tried and true solutions to engineer sustainable solutions to help people meet their basic human needs.
Engineering is the use of scientific principles to design and build machines, structures, and other items. The discipline of engineering has many applications that can make amazing solutions to everyday problems. Where there is a will, there is a way, and we are a group of engineers determined to MacGyver a solution to any problem a community needs assistance with.

Our goal at EWB UTK is to use the opportunities provided to us by EWB USA, the University of Tennessee, and the Tickle College of Engineering to create opportunities for those who do not have them. We are all incredibly lucky, but there are many people around the world and right here on Rocky Top whose basic human needs are not met. We have the opportunity to change that.

EWB-UTK Highlights
For our first projects, EWB UTK is starting off at home base in East Tennessee. Octopus's Garden will be a community garden complete with aquaponics and a rainwater collector. Come Together will be charging stations at bus stops around the Knoxville area. Check out our feed below and follow us on Instagram (@ewb_utk) to see our progress!
